WTF?!

The following is an e-mail I received from one of the “animal rights activists” I have been reading about here on his site.

I’m sure you’ve seen this before but I thought I’d share it again because it’s still relevant. The facts quoted from this site are very troubling and should make anyone with any conscience or sensitivity ask what the hell is going on. The author went on to say that “the facts are so clear that we were doomed from the start,” and she is probably right. In short, what is happening right now is illegal and unconscionable, and there is no justification whatsoever for it.

So let me get this straight. Animal abuse is a criminal act in some states? And the law in Oregon is against it even more than in some other states? And the law in Oregon is illegal?

I’ve been saying lately that most if not all animal abuse is a crime, but I am not saying it has to be a legal crime either. But as with all things, when a law is illegal the whole thing is illegal. The fact that the law in Oregon is illegal tells us one thing: the law in Oregon does not protect animal abuse. The law in Oregon is a sham.

By the way, I did have an interesting email from a person who suggested that it would be better for animals if they were sterilized, but I pointed out that it would be the same as if they were sterilized in the name of their own good — for their own good.

I think that it is impossible to know where our current laws will lead, but here are a few of my thoughts: First, sterilization laws should not be used to prevent people from eating meat they like.
