West has publicly criticised Tarantino over his film "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood"

Kanye West’s fallout continues, this time with Quentin Tarantino denying a claim that he gave the rapper one million dollars.

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with a source who claimed Tarantino gave West “up to a million dollars” to use for his next two projects.

“In 2016, he was asking for more money for ‘Yeezus,’ so I suggested that if he was able to make a film with it, it would be a good idea to give him $1 million so he could make a film with it,” the source said.

The source added that West had a similar deal to that of the director with other musicians including Jay Z, who has not signed up for a film starring West (or indeed any other Hollywood star).

“I know Jay Z was getting $1 million for ‘The Black Album,’ but he never got it,” the source said. “That’s the way he was. He was just giving the money to people who he knew were a good fit.”

The source also talked of West calling Tarantino in 2018 to ask for more money for his next movie.

“Quentin told Kanye that he said to him, ‘You know when you’re not working, you’re not really working, right? People call you on the phone and you get your phone call the next day. Do I get your call?”’ the source said. “I told Kanye, ‘Yeah, but you don’t get any of my money!”’

West also has publicly criticised Tarantino and his film “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” over the fact that Quentin is allowed to make films where he controls the actors, and his role in the film is minimal.

In 2018, he said that he doesn’t want “any part of a Tarantino production”. He also said he was not having a problem with his director’s other films with actors such as Chris Tucker and Tim Roth.
